Smart Card & Biometric Logon System (MyKad)
Win-Tek Windows logon module (Smart Card/MyKad) is a system designed to justify the needs and preferences of system administrator responsible for managing user account. It basically replaces the default Microsoft Windows XP/2000 logon authentication module. The software module consists of two major components:
- Authentication Module
This module performs the authentication by validating username/password entered by the user against the logon credential in the smart card. It provides extra security layer in that even if the intruder guesses the correct username/password, the system requires the smart card to be present before access to the workstation can be granted.
- Administrator Console
Administrator Console allows administrator to create, edit, and delete logon credential stored in the smart card. This software module is installed in administrator's workstation only.
